Affirmations

An affirmation is a declaration that something is true.

In personal growth, affirmations are written down or listened to repeatedly over a period of time to impress the mind with statements about the trueness of oneself or one’s goals.

For example, a well-known affirmation is to say to yourself over and over “Every day in every way, I am becoming better and better and better.”

The goal of using affirmations is to make the mind believe something that it does not necessarily believe at the present moment.

In this way, it is related to a self-fulfilling prophecy.
